Why Android Camera Phones Still Suck | Motherboard

09.06.2015 02:00

I rarely write much about Android, because I don’t are. But this is important.

Android cameras suck. Seriously, they suck. And there are many reasons for it, first of all, hardware is only half of it. You need to make sure that the software layer can convert the raw data from the sensor into a good looking JPEG.

The problem with Android isn’t hardware, but software. Good cameras can generate bad JPEG’s. Some phones do it, and some compact cameras do it, and many DSLR’s generate horrible JPEG’s.

This is why I shoot RAW, I can edit, and let someone I trust generate the JPEG – Adobe.

iOS 9

09.06.2015 02:00

I’m becoming more and more convinced that a iPad Air and some kind of Mac mini or iMac will replace this Macbook Air, when the time comes. I really look forward to see and play around with the multitasking features in iOS 9.

Why and why not Google – All this

08.06.2015 02:00

I have been moving stuff away from google for a very long time. It all started when I got fed up with Google Docs and Gmail. And it looks like 2015 was the year when geeks started to move away from Google Search.

There are reasons to use Google, and there are reasons to not use Google.

Ads are a part of the internet, and I don’t expect to get away from them ever, but I try to limit how much each company know about me. This means: I use Google only where they are the best, or don’t have any close competitors.

I do the same with Facebook; I only use it when I have to.

Both of the two new Realy.fm shows are great. One is with Merlin Mann and John Siracusa, and that is of cource fantastic. The other is with Myke and CGP Grey, which is also fantastic.

I didn’t expect any of them, but that might be why they are so great.

GitUp

GitUp is a really good Git app. I have tried almost every single one, but most of them don’t work for me as a experienced git command like user. This one is the first one that gives me both, in a single window. Every git user, no matter if you are GUI or command line user should check it out.

How to easily re-size the link bracelet on your Apple Watch | iMore

05.06.2015 02:00

I don’t post that much about the Apple Watch, because I don’t want one, and I don’t care that much, but this is cool. The link bracelet for Apple Watch is one of the things I want, because of how easy it is to customize it. To customize most link bracelets on regular watches inclues using a paperclip to push out pins, and it is a real hazzle. This is a example of where Apple is the best when it comes to innovation and improving on something everyone in an industry have been doing wrong for a long time.
