The New Trackpad — MacSparky

April 06, 2015

David Sparks:

That’s right. The new Force Touch trackpad stumped me. It turned me into that old guy that doesn’t believe something is new. We then turned off the MacBook and I clicked it. Sure enough, nothing happened. The fancy magnets and unicorn tears they put inside the new trackpad absolutely makes it feel like you’re clicking.

MacStories

April 01, 2015

Federico Viticci:

With version 5.3 of 1Password for iOS, the team at AgileBits has shipped considerable improvements to the app’s action extension, launched alongside iOS 8 back in September. In the updated app, the extension is now almost on par with the browser extension found in 1Password for desktop computers, which means I’ll no longer wish for the “real” 1Password extension whenever I’m logging into websites or setting up new logins on my iPhone and iPad.

Finally, it is great to see AgileBits improving the 1Password extension, it is the extension I use more than anything else on my iPhone.

Napkin 1.5

April 01, 2015

Napkin version 1.5 is out, I used to use it all the time when I worked a lot with screenshots. A great app, every OS X user out there that annotate screenshots or anything else should get it.

Tim Cook

April 01, 2015

Tim Cook:

Our message, to people around the country and around the world, is this: Apple is open. Open to everyone, regardless of where they come from, what they look like, how they worship or who they love. Regardless of what the law might allow in Indiana or Arkansas, we will never tolerate discrimination.

Drafts Gets Friendly with Workflow — MacSparky

March 30, 2015

David Sparks:

A few weeks ago, Agile Tortoise released Drafts 4.1.2. My favourite new feature is the “Run Workflow” action.[…]

This makes both of them more interesting. It is cool to see two apps as innovative as this to play together.

My lefty spiral bound notebook hack.

March 30, 2015

I think spiral bound notebooks are the best, because they make it comfortable to write in a notebook, no matter if you are on the first or the last page.

But, there is a problem, I’m a lefty, and that damn spiral is always in the way.

My problem to this have always been to flip the book over, and to start from the back.

It is a great way get a “lefty notebook”.

It is kind of weird, when I think of it, that there isn’t left handed notebooks.

Every lefty out there should try it!

Use it!

March 30, 2015

I don’t use a case on my iPhone, and I have never used one for more than a few weeks. I have one for my iPad, but thats more of a practical reason, than keeping it from getting scratched up.

I have my pens in the same jeans pocket as my keys are. My Field Notes live in my back pocket. And my large notebooks are just lose in my backpack.

Everything I own have dints and or scratches. My phone, iPad, Macbook Air, SLR, Pens, and you can see that I have used all of it.

You should use your stuff, without thinking about preserving them in “perfect” condition, because you can’t.

Which bring me to my point here. You have two kinds of well designed products. The stuff that looks the best straight out of the box. And the stuff like Field Notes or a Fender Guitar the more you use and wear it down the cooler it looks

Use it! Make it yours!
