DxO ONE | Professional Quality Connected Camera for iPhone | www.dxo.com

September 03, 2015

The DxO One is a fantastic idea. I have been a fan since I first saw it. And I think it is a must for everyone that love taking pictures with their phone, that want better pictures. It is not for me, though.

I love taking pictures with a real camera, and that is why I’m still going to buy a Fujifilm X100T instead of a DxO. But I know tons of people that should go for this inead of a proper camera.

Too bad it’s not available outside the US.

On Trump – All this

September 01, 2015

Ten years ago, Harry Frankfurt, a philosophy professor (emeritus) at Princeton, came out with a very slim volume entitled On Bullshit. It was basically just the republication of an essay he’d written about 20 years earlier, but it got a fair amount of attention when put in book form. What struck me about it at the time was the contrast Frankfurt drew between bullshit and lying.

On Bullshit is one of my favourite essays. There is a difference between bullshit and lying. And I agree, Trump is just bullshitting.

Crystal benchmarks.

August 27, 2015

Crystal is a upcoming “content blocker” for iOS. The short version of the story is that Apple will allow developers to develop Safari extentions to block content, everything from ads to trackers etc on iOS

  1. This will be very interesting. And this articles shows why.

I don’t mind non-intrusive ads. My problem is when I have to download tens upon tens of megabytes of javascript libararies and resources for tracking purposes on (almost) every single site I go to.

What mobile ad blocking looks like in the real world

August 25, 2015

The next version of iOS comes with a major new feature called ‘content blockers’ which will allow users to install apps that block trackers, advertisements and other unwanted content for the first time.

I can’t wait!
